Photographer Common Questions

Never take chances on your wedding day, the most memorable day of your life. Just think what happens on that day, after the cake cut and eaten, the flowers have faded, and the wedding DJ returned after his duty, you will be left only with the wonderful memories from the wedding day- and surely your photographers too. True, a friend, a cousin or any one of your relative can take the most important photographs of your life. But it is advisable to let a professional to wire your house because the difference between them is while an amateur takes your picture a professional photographer takes your Portrait.

So to make those moments eternal you have to hire an experienced professional photographer. But before hiring a photographer you must ask some important questions and clear you doubts.

The following are just a few of the common questions you might ask your photographer .

The first question is whether you will get the proofs. Usually a photographer has got the rights to their work, but a consideration could be possible such as some will leave the proofs into your selection.

You ask about the photographer’s minimum package and get everything in writing.
Then you enquire how long you will have their services for. Some photographers have packages that allow a certain fixed timing for their service and the package may or may not include a maximum number of shots that they will take on the wedding day.

Then you express your wish to see the samples of their work. They readily will produce the sample photos, but look at the shots as if looking through their eyes. Just think whether you get what you want to see.

In the case of references you get the addresses and phone numbers of 3-4 clients they had worked with. Call or meet those clients and confirm how, in general, was their work and whether they were easy to work with.

Next you can ask whether he/she knows any special beautiful locations to take some shots. With their help you will get a few good location portraits done. This will also help you to get an idea of their creative skills.

You might be interested to know whether they charge extra to come to the house. This you can find in the package if you are purchasing one.

If your reception starts at 6 and dinner is at 7 will the photographer be at the reception well ahead of time. Most of them will keep on schedule as they have an obligation to you and other vendors.

Will it be possible to purchase the film and the development done by yourself? If they deny it don’t take it in a bad way. Actually they are helping you in the development of the photographs using professional quality paper and reproduction services and equipment. You can hardly expect such expertise and quality paper required to the fine development of the film from a local ordinary store.

Can you tell them what all shots you want and what don’t want? Of course you can express your desires.

How much you have to deposit, but be careful in getting payment options, deposits and due dates all details in writing.

Make sure the photographers are insured to cover you and them.
