A Typical Schedule Plan For Wedding Photographer

Shooting at the Groom's house happen rarely, but if they are wanted, ensure things run on time, so that you can get to the Bride's house on time. An organized, professional photographer will get to the bride’s house early. The Bride might be almost ready and as you are early she may allow getting things in order without rushing. Shower compliments on the Bride, saying she looks nice and has nothing to worry about. Never, under any circumstances tell her she is beautiful because if she is not, this comment could turn her against you.

Try to help the bride and her family to be calm at the house, so that the tone of the whole wedding will reflect on this. Inform the family what you are going to photograph outside the church or wedding venue.

Arrive at the church, or wedding venue fast to set up for the next steps. Talk to the groom and photograph him. Have a chat with the minister/celebrant, check everything is OK, whether you can use flash or not etc. Wait for the cars to arrive and during the ceremony look for photo opportunities like is the bride’s mother crying, her father crying or smiling? etc.

When the formal things like the vows have been made, and the register signed etc are over the Bride and Groom will walk down the aisle. At this moment guests will surround the couple and if the crowd is big it will take some time to clear. Get ready with the camera as some may ask to take their photos at this point. Behave politely and professionally with the guests and some could be your next clients.

After the ceremony the bridal party will take a 10 minutes break and then start the family photos, beginning with the Bride's side, then the Groom’s, then all the friends and invitees. At this point the best man or the maid of honor might cause some delay. So start with the children in the party. Whatever happens here, stay calm and cool even when things go wrong, keep calm because you will not get good photos if you are stressed.

When you think you have finished check with Bride and Groom that you have all they wanted, or if you were pressed for time, that you have the set-ups they wanted the most. Next you get back to the reception and set up for mock cake cutting, which is done for a tight budget and you need not attend the reception.

Rush to the reception venue before the bride and groom and be ready to catch them arriving. The routine things that happen at reception are speeches, toasts, food, and first dance. While there is potential photography, don't eat, or drink, you may miss something important. Before leaving, ensure that the Bride, Groom or whoever is paying for the photography, have all the shots they expect.

Get the prints finished as early as possible and deliver them only to the bride and groom while the day is still fresh in their memory. If someone else is paying for the photography explains it to them that only the couple gets the prints. Always try to avoid any dispute. While sorting out the prints leave the blinks and the ones that are not up to the mark.
